Helicopter Spins Uncontrollably into Palm Trees at Popular California Shoreline
An aircraft hovering over a well-attended coastal coastline unexpectedly started spinning uncontrollably, eventually descending rapidly and smashing into a line of palm fronds as onlookers looked on.
Footage uploaded on the internet capture the chopper beginning to twirl above Huntington Beach then plunging towards the edge of the beach, where it ends up lodged between palms and a set of stairs near the Pacific Coast highway.
Emergency Response Update
Local firefighters stated five persons were transported to a medical facility including two who were in the helicopter and were “safely pulled from the wreckage” following the incident on that day.
Three people on the pavement were injured. Specifics on their injuries were still under review.
