Charli XCX Plays a Twisted Persona of Her Own Identity in Satirical Film First Look

The celebrated musician is preparing for a major cinematic presence in 2026, kicking off with the fictional documentary titled The Moment.

In the film, she portrays what she describes as a dark version of herself.

It’s the realest depiction of the music business that I’ve ever witnessed, the performer commented.

She further explained in a discussion: This isn’t a concert film, however the inspiration stemmed from the expectation to make one.

A Sneak Peek into The Moment

The debut trailer, released on recently, blends actual recordings from her live performances with made-up behind-the-scenes moments.

The film is directed and co-written by her collaborator, who shared that the plot focuses on a reality where the artist opted for alternate decisions in the publicity of her smash hit album Brat.

The film is only one of numerous upcoming film appearances for Charli, who already appeared in three festival films in the current year.

She also agreed to star in the star’s directorial debut A Tree in Blue.

I am really enjoying my cinematic path, the performer shared. I feel very, very inspired right now in this area, and I always aim to pursue roles that stimulate me.

Musical Contributions

Next February will also bring the release of Emerald Fennell’s interpretation of Wuthering Heights, which will feature original songs from the artist.

She will also compose the score for the drama Mother Mary, featuring Anne Hathaway and Michaela Coel, scheduled for release in the coming year.

The mockumentary is scheduled to debut on 30 January.
